Childcare, and especially early childcare, is sometimes seen as a stereotypically feminine career. Even the word “Nanny” can be traced back to the Welsh word “nain” meaning grandmother, the Greek word “nánna” meaning aunt, and the Russian word “nyánya” meaning nursemaid.

In fact, only 10% of those who call themselves nannies are male. In this episode, my guest Parker Guidry and I challenge that stereotype. Hard.

With an extended episode, we talk about gender stereotypes from nannies themselves to the kids they nanny. We discuss the term “Manny” and Parker has plenty of wonderful stories from his years of experience in childcare. This episode is packed full and not to be missed!
